AVAILABILITY
During certain times of the year stock can run out and new stock may not be available at the listed price. In these rare cases we will refund in full any amounts paid online. Alternatively please email to check availability.


Return, Refund & Warranty Policies:

All products unless otherwise stated carry a 12 month limited warranty see below.

Delivery Times

Orders received by midday Mon - Fri are dispatched on the same day for in stock items and most items are sent next day courier service. In the event items are not in stock we will email or call to advise you when the items will be dispatched and in this case no money will be debited until items are ready for dispatch.

If your product is sent by Courier they will attempt delivery twice. If they are unable to deliver because you are not home, there will be a further £7.50 charge for each subsequent delivery attempt and if they are unable to deliver after 5 days because you have not contacted them to re-arange delivery after the first 2 attempts the goods will be returned to us and the return delivery costs will be charged to you.

Returns and Cancellation

When you buy goods through www.startelescopes.co.uk you have the same rights as when purchasing from a regular shop or showroom. In addition, you are entitled to a seven working-day 'cooling off' period, as described in the 'distance selling' section of the government website http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases and if for any reason you are not happy please return it within 7 days and we will exchange, replace or refund it at your request - subject to the following conditions:

  • The goods must be returned with all accessories, packaging, instructions, etc and must be in unused condition.
  • Software can only be accepted if the packaging is still sealed.
  • A proof of purchase must be supplied.
  • You must return any free gifts that came with the product.
  • We will not refund any items that have been specially made to your individual specification or personalised.

Upon receipt of returned product, Star Telescopes will assess the item/s to determine if they comply with the conditions of our warranty. Items that comply will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Items that are deemed to be out of warranty or have had their warranty voided will, with the customer's approval, be fixed at a reasonable cost or replaced if beyond economical repair. Our warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, accidental, incidental or intentional abuse, tampering or the wear and tear of normal use.

Please do not return goods without first contacting us. Wherever possible, we will respond to your individual circumstances. If a fault occurs within 28 days of delivery, we will always offer you an exchange, replacement or refund. If the fault occurs after 28 days but within 12 months, we will normally offer you a prompt repair, exchange or refund. You must take reasonable care of the goods in your possession pending their return to Star Telescopes. Please ensure goods are suitably packed. Goods to be returned should be sent to: Star Telescopes, The Astronomy Barn, 4 Paygate Cottages, New Road, Ringmer, Near Lewes, East Sussex, BN8 5HA. Where the item is large or bulky, please contact us so that we can arrange collection if required.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

The following items are not returnable or refundable:
Specially ordered items where a deposit has been paid. Deposits are non refundable but only redeemable against another purchase from Star Telescopes. Collimatable products: Cannot be returned on the grounds that they are mis-collimated if they are in fact designed to be user-collimated (includes all telescopes) - unless user collimation is prevented by defects in workmanship. If you bring a standard reflector telescope into our shop, we will do our utmost to offer a free collimation service , however charges may be applicable if the telescope was not sold to you by Star Telescopes or if the collimation requires consultation by a master optician, we will discuss this with you every step of the way. A standard fee of £20.00 is chargeable for collimation of a newtonian telescope or £30.00 for complex catadioptric telescopes.

Software returns:
In order to receive any credit for these items, they must be unopened and tamper-free (no missing shrink-wrap/packaging, no missing protective/security tape, no missing label). Absolutely no credit will be refunded if there are signs of tampering with the product in any way. If the original is defective, you may be able to exchange the item by returning it back to us.

Free gifts:
You must also return the free gift in order to receive a full refund. If you are unable to do so, the value of the free gift will be subtracted from the purchase price of the item being returned. You will be refunded the difference. The value of the free gift is based on the price it was regularly sold for on the date of your original purchase.

Warranty Policy - Valid from date of purchase:
Our warranty covers defects in workmanship rendering products non-functional. Our warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, accidental, incidental or intentional abuse, tampering or the wear and tear of normal use. Upon receipt of returned product, Star Telescopes will assess the item/s to determine if they comply with the conditions of our warranty and if they were sold through ourselves. Items that do comply will be fixed or replaced free of charge. Items that are deemed to be out of warranty or have had their warranty voided will, with the customer's approval, be fixed at a reasonable cost or replaced with new product paid for at full retail value. Only items imported and sold via legitimate EU Dealers are covered.



Dew Controllers, Heaters & Sensors: 1 years for parts and labour. 
Kendrick Solar Filters: 1 years for parts and labour. 
Kendrick Kwik Focus: 1 years for parts and labour. 
Kendrick Laser Collimators: 1 years for parts and labour. 
Please note there is a collimation charge for lasers which have been put out of collimation through being dropped onto a hard surface or suffering a very hard shock.

Kendrick Power Packs:
Power Pack: 3 months for parts & labour. 
Battery Charger and associated parts: 1 year for parts and labour. Must be returned in the original shipping box.
Battery is non-returnable, non refundable. 
Kendrick Ultimate III Observing Chairs: 1 year for parts & labour. 
Kendrick Tents: 3 months for materials & labour. Carry bag not covered under warranty.

Lunt Solar Systems products will be covered by a full warranty redeemable direct with Lunt Solar Systems. Please see Lunt Solar Systems warranty terms for more details here http://www.luntsolarsystems.com If the product in question was purchased from South Downs Astronomy we will repair or replace the faulty item at our discresion.

Privacy statement:
All information submitted to Star Telescopes will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and privacy. Unless you give us permission, we will not share any customer information with any outside parties.

We cannot accept responsibility for information or opinions from third-parties contained within this site or for the content of links from this site.

Star Telescopes reserve the right to withdraw any item from sale, at any point prior to dispatch, for whatever reason. You will be promptly informed if such a situation arises and fully refunded.

Specifications are obtained from the manufacturers and cannot be guaranteed accurate by Star Telescopes. Product descriptions are for guidance only. Errors and Omissions excepted.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
